Finally a win against Switzerland :)

Beautiful game from the girls, probably our best game technically and tactically since the start of our season. We won (17-12), for the first time in three games against Switzerland this year.

We scored three early tries thanks to quick and clever play, and good support. Switzerland managed to score one try in the first half. The second half was more about managing against a Switzerland team who managed to keep possession of the ball, something they are very good at.

On the last 2 minutes, the Norwegian girls showed maturity by keeping the ball and taking their time.

Starting team: Karoline, Tonje, Ingrid, Karin, Ragnhild, Kari, Gina.

Subs: Susanne, Ellen (2nd half).

Tries: Karoline (assist Gina), Tonje (assist Karin), Karin (Assist ?)

Conversion: Ragnhild (1/3)

Rainy day in Szeged

We are at the pitch. It’s raining, and it will probably rain the whole day. Feels like Bergen 🙂 we’ll have to adapt our game plan.

We’re playing the pool’s games today, against Switzerland first, Netherlands and Latvia. Trude will be coach 1 for the first game.

Relaxing afternoon

We went to a local spa after lunch. It was a beautiful, classic hungarian spa. We felt a bit young, it was mostly used by older locals, but it was nice both to relax and to live the life of hungarians for a few hours.

Went back to the hotel afterwards, had the jersey ceremony. I managed to get the last few minutes of the world cup semi final between France and Uruguay.

We’re eating diner now!

Training

We are back to the hotel after a long but good training session at the stadium. We focused on team play.

After a short break, we took a 15min walk to the restaurant where we are eating lunch, downtown Szeged.

I managed to earn privilege of wearing the viking hat, for small things like forgetting to pump the balls this morning, forgetting the sports drink, and forgetting about the plan for the afternoon…

Sharing the privilege with Susanne who is a rookie this weekend.

On our way to Hungary

We’re a team again, like every other weekend since the end of May. Kirsten is with us, this time. Susanne as well – she passed her MSc when we were in Ukraine.
